Mercy & Outreach
At Providence Church in West Hills, our faith is not just something we believe — it’s something we live out in the San Fernando and Conejo Valleys. We are moved by the mercy of Jesus and committed to serving our neighbors in tangible ways: sharing meals, supporting families, responding to needs, and being the hands and feet of Christ across our region. Whether you’re looking to join in one of our monthly outreaches or want to invite our church to partner with your ministry, we’d love to connect and serve together.
Our Outreach Initiatives
Here are some of the ways we are actively serving in our local region -
Monthly Meal Service: We serve dinner each month at the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission (Northridge), offering hospitality, hope, and community to those who are hungry and without home.
Family Rescue Center Support: We partner with the Family Rescue Center (Canoga Park) to assist with various initiatives that support families in crisis.

Care Portal Engagement: Through the national platform Care Portal, we respond to specific community needs — requests for help, resources, and support are addressed by our church body with compassion in real time.

Community-Driven Projects: In addition to scheduled programs, we regularly respond to needs across the Valley: providing care packages, supporting local schools, participating in park clean-ups, and offering prayer teams when crises hit.If you’d like to learn more, contact Ben, benblox@gmail.com.
We believe everyone can participate — you don’t need a special skill, you just need a willing heart. To get connected:
Join a monthly meal team at the Rescue Mission — meals served, hospitality provided, love shown.
Serve with family-support programs at the Family Rescue Center: tutoring, work with children, mentoring.
Respond through Care Portal: we submit requests and mobilize volunteers to meet urgent community needs.
Host or initiate a short-term outreach: if you see a local need in your neighborhood (Valley senior home, neighborhood park, elementary school), talk to our Mercy & Outreach team and we’ll partner with you.
Pray and give: Many of our outreach efforts are sustained by prayer support and financial giving. If you’re unable to serve physically, your prayers and generosity make a difference.
If you would like to learn more or join our outreach team, please reach out to our Mercy Director, Ben (benblox@gmail.com).
Why Outreach Matters
As followers of Jesus, we’re called to reflect His mercy and compassion. The Apostle says, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord” (Proverbs 19:17). At Providence, outreach is part of the way we love God, love one another, and love our neighbors. Our work in the Valley is not about public displays, but about humility, service, and long-term relational presence. Whether through a warm meal or an act of help, we’re committed to showing the love of Christ and building community.
